Neha Dhupia all set to sizzle in Tamil

Future Films is planning to release the Tamil dubbed version of ‘Julie’, which released in Hindi a few years back. Sanjay Kapoor (brother of yesteryear’s hero Anil Kapoor) plays the lead and has the sexy and stunning Neha Dhupia as his heroine. Neha, who has done a handful of movies in Bollywood.

Neha Dhupia, it is said has gone a bit too far in exposing in a couple of occasions. Mumaith Khan has performed an ‘item number’ in the film. The film, shot in Goa, Mumbai and in many European cities, has six songs which are set to score by Himesh Reshmaiyaah. Deepak is the director and Kumar is the producer of the film while Thomas Xavier is the cinematographer.

‘Julie’ is expected to hit the screens by March end.

She had once famously remarked that only Shah Rukh Khan and sex sells in Bollywood but actress Neha Dhupia is now tired of the 'sexy' tag, which she believes has worked against her.

The former Miss India, who started her Bollywood journey with bold roles in 'Qayamat' and 'Julie', feels that despite having done some very serious roles, she has not been taken seriously in the industry because of her 'sexy' image.

'I sincerely believe that the term 'sexy' is always used against me,' Neha Dhupia said. But then again, she plays the role of a hot and happening 'Sophia' who is so full of poise in her upcoming flick 'Raat Gayi Baat Gayi'. She looks stunning in the promotional trailers.

She hit the headlines recently when she agreed to go topless for a cause. She has done a series of calendar shorts as a part of a Go Green initiative launched by Franchise India Holdings Ltd, an integrated franchise solution company.

The actress had to work hard to get over the 'Julie' nickname that she earned for herself after a dare bare portrayal of a prostitute in the namesake film in 2004.

'I strongly believe that my biggest flaw is that I am sexy. Just because of that, it is always safely presumed that I would be busy out there seducing people on screen,' she says.

The 29-year-old star, however, is happy about the compliments that she has received for her recent success in comic caper 'De Dana Dan'.

She is also looking forward to audience reaction towards her forthcoming release 'Raat Gayi Baat Gayi'. Even though she has a couple of Hollywood assignments, she says she would prefer to stay back in India.

Neha Dhupia has been around for more than six years now and has done films as diverse as Mithya and Julie. But she neither believes in boasting about her body of work nor is she keen to approach leading actors and filmmakers to rope her in for their films. "This is the way I have been throughout my career. I am not the type who would go and tell everyone what I have done in the past," said Neha.

After having debuted opposite Ajay Devgn in Qayamat (2003), she has worked in close to 30 movies. "What's the point in doing that when you have your work to speak for itself? This is not to say that I am less ambitious than anyone. I work as hard as anyone else. It's just that I can't serve myself on a platter," she said.

The actress is not complaining even if she is playing a supporting role in films like Singh Is Kinng and just released De Dana Dan with Katrina Kaif as the leading lady opposite Akshay Kumar. "There is a thin distinction between lead and supporting roles today. You may not be a romantic lead in a film, but then you have to see the kind of value you bring to a film.

"When it comes to commercial cinema, I have to thank people like Vipul, whose sensibilities I completely agree with, and Priyan Sir, with whom I have worked in Chup Chup Ke and Garam Masala earlier. They have always approached me whenever there is something good in the offing," Neha said.

However, she has the trio of Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla and Vinay Pathak to thank for the complete shift in mindset that she went through at a crucial phase of her career. "These are the people responsible for opening up different avenues for me. By working in movies like Mithya, Raat Gayi Baat Gayi, I Am 24 and Pappu Can't Dance Saala, there is an altogether different dimension that I have been able to explore.
